Why I Love Autumn

Autumn

If you follow me on my socials you will realise I LOVE Autumn. It’s my favourite season of them all where its not too hot yet not too cold, the leaves start falling off the trees which leaves a trail of beautiful reds browns and oranges on the ground and this is where the build up to Christmas starts! It’s such a beautiful season so I thought I would share with you the top 10 reasons why I personally love it!

#1 // Cosy Nights In – The nights are getting darker, the air outside is getting colder, it only calls for one thing – cosy nights in with loved ones. Whether it be watching a film or playing a game, during this season it just feels so much more snug and comfortable. Everyone sitting around wrapped in blankets having a laugh, its just absolute bliss. However in this house Monopoly has been banned, ends in tears.

#2 // Fluffy Jammies & Onesies – Come on, admit it, we all purposely go out of our way to buy ourselves a new set of fluffy jammies or a onesie designed with a giraffe print or some sort of animal just because we can! I only own 2 onesies; one with a dog design equipped with a tail, ears and a nose and a Hello Kitty one. Don’t judge me, she’s cool.

#3 // Crunchy Leaves – Who doesn’t jump into a pile of crisp leaves just to hear that lovely crunch sound?! Walking down the road kicking up the leaves and watching them fall from the trees. Beautiful.

#4 // Hot Chocolate – There’s nothing better than coming home after a busy day, popping the kettle on (if you love the instant stuff) or heating up some milk and making yourself a nice hot cup of hot chocolate, complimented with a LOT of whipped cream, cocoa sprinkles and tiny little marshmallows sprinkled on top. grabbing your favourite magazine or popping on the TV programmes you so desperately need to catch up on and unwind for the day. Love it!

#5 // Soup – I absolutely love making homemade soups (I was actually thinking of popping a few soup recipes on here!), just popping all the ingredients into my slow cooker in the morning and by the time dinner times here all I need to do is cut a few bits off from a baguette and BAM! Dinners ready! Plus the great thing about soup is you can batch cook it, pop it in containers and pop in the freezer.

#6 // Bonfire Night – Lets face it, pretty colours lighting up the night sky is beautiful to watch. Some people hate fireworks and I can completely understand why but personally I love them. Inverness hold a pretty good fireworks display every year and we always try and head down and watch, bringing our sparklers with us and making rude pictures with them (26 but still a child at heart!).

#7 // Candles – Woooah, hold it right there, I hear you say ‘but you can light a candle any time of the year!’. Ah, but autumn themed candles just seem to smell so much better! Cinnamon, spiced berries, gingerbread and pumpkin, all these scents filling your house is just bliss.

#8 // Jumpers – I flippin’ love fluffy jumpers! Oversized jumpers to be precise. However I do have this fluffy cardigan which my fiancée bought me back in Christmas ’16 and cant wait to bring it back out of the wardrobe!

#9 // Make Up – Warm toned eyeshadow palettes, berry coloured lippies, burgundy coloured nails. LOVE IT! Can’t wait to start creating autumn themed make up looks. One thing ive never been confident in is posting pictures of myself on here (apart from the one on my Sudocrem review) so I need to start stepping out my comfort zone a little bit!

#10 // Halloween! – ’nuff said. Who doesn’t like dressing up!?

Cosy nights in, reading in front of the fire has got to be my all time favourite thing about Autumn! Loved this post!

Oh how I miss my open fire! I think when I buy a new house that has to be a necessity purely to read in front of the fire. Pure bliss isn’t it?
