Updated Skin Care Routine

Updated Skin Care Routine

I’m really getting into my skin care, now with the colder months upon us it can be harsh on our skin and I feel a good skin care routine is key. I’ve never really been the one to have a routine as I used to be that kind of person to never look after themselves. But now I’ve seen the light and my skin could not be happier! Yay for happy skin!

So firstly I start off using the Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water, popping a small bit onto a cotton pad and rubbing the whole of my face. This is usually to help remove any excess serum which hasn’t fully dried into the skin from a product the night before. I was actually recommended this by another blogger and I wish I had discovered it before. I used to use Simple facial wipes but I’ve found that micellar water is much gentler on the skin and eyelashes when removing make up.

Secondly I use the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Acid Pads, basically removing 1 pad from the tub and using light sweeping motions, rub my whole face. These help to remove dead skin cells to make your face feel much fresher. As it contains Witch Hazel this helps with spot inflammations which is a huge problem for me and to help tone the skin. They also contain Aloe and Pro Vitamin B5.

Lately I’ve been absolutely loving the Foreo Day Cleanser that I received as a free gift when I subscribed to a magazine. It works perfectly as a second cleanser. It has been proven to illuminate and protect the skin from daily life and it makes my skin look and feel more awake with the fruit extracts that are crammed into this yoghurt based cleanser. A great thing about this cleanser is that 95% of the ingredients in this wonderful product is natural. Unfortunately I do not own a fancy device but I do have a cleansing pad which I picked up from Primark for £1.50, I pop small bits of the product onto my cheeks, forehead and chin then massage into the skin using circular motions with the cleansing pad then wash off using warm water.

Once I’ve dried my face I then move onto applying the Bio Essence 24K Gold Water*. This stuff is amazing! I won’t go too much into this as I will have a full blog post soon. This gives my skin that glow I never thought it had. It dries down quick and doesn’t leave that horrible sticky feeling on your skin. Using my fingertips I apply this using circular motions then once the whole of my face is covered I just tap it into the skin until its completely dry.

The final product in my morning skin care routine is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant 2 in 1 Moisturiser & Serum. This stuff makes my skin feel so soft and leaves a slight velvety feel to my skin. During the winter months my skin can become horrifically dry and this stuff helps so much to not only moisturise my face but to also protect it against the harsh weather.

And that’s the completed morning skin care routine!

So lets move onto the evening routine.

Same as before in the morning routine I use the Micellar Water and the Glycolic Acid Pads in the same way. Once both of these steps have been completed then I move onto using the Foreo Night Cleanser. This was also a freebie when I signed up to a subscription of a magazine. This starts off as a gel and once popped onto the skin and spread evenly using a wet cleansing brush it turns into a velvety milk texture. This helps to remove impurities, make up and pollutants gently with its unique formula which tailors to your skin. Some of the ingredients include Meteorite Powder, Moringa Extract and Sweet Almond, leaving your skin feeling super soft and detoxified.

Now I received this in my Look Incredible Box back in October and I did say I wasn’t going to use it as it just didn’t seem like a product for me but the day I got the box I gave it a wee try and I love it! So once my skin is dry after using the cleansing I then apply the Skin Doctor T-Zone Control No More Pores down my nose, around the area of my nose and across my forehead. I love the tingling sensation this gives when you apply this as you can feel this working. I genuinely didn’t think this would make any difference but I have noticed a huge difference to the size of my pores, also its slightly helped with the dry skin around my nose as well which was unexpected!

The final products in my nightly routine is alternated. 2 nights a week I’ve been using the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel and the other nights I use my Decleor Hydrating Night Balm. When I’m having a bad spot week (usually when time of the month happens!) the Glycolic Peel helps to remove any spots that I have, I apply this to the areas where the No More Pores cream hasn’t been applied and down the neck as well. This also helps to retexturize the skin to help give it a glow and a more youthful complexion.
The Hydrating Balm helps to moisturise my skin overnight and make my skin look less ‘tired’. I recently featured this in my October Favourites as I swear by this product. Its made such a difference to my skin but absolutely gutted I’m running out of the stuff!

I’m not a skin care expert, but this routine suits me perfectly. Its not time consuming, time is something I don’t seem to have lately. But each product has helped me achieve better looking skin and has made me feel more confident in my own skin. Each routine takes me roughly 5-10 minutes and only using 5 products each time.

Anything in my routine which you’re loving?

Until next time,

I have been getting into skincare a lot more recently too, as it is really needed in the colder months. There are so many great sounding products here too, I’ll be sure to check them out. I have heard so many good things about the Superdrug range too xx

The Naturally Radiant range from Superdrug is fab, there’s also another range which I cannot remember off the top of my head which is really good as well so if you ever get a chance then I would recommend giving them a try.
