I love big lashes and I love creating them without the use of falsies. I tried them before and we just never got on. On a night out I wore some for the first time and I looked an absolute mess, they were peeling from the sides! Even trying to put them on was a disaster so I’ve vowed never to attempt it again and stick to what I know, a good mascara.
During my journey of finding the perfect one I seem to have stumbled upon 3 which are my absolute staples, 2 being more high end whilst one is completely budget friendly.
Too Faced Better Than Sex
I mention this way too much, so much so its been featured in my July Favourites and My Daily Makeup Routine, it is honestly one of THE BEST mascaras I’ve ever discovered. The packaging is cute, the wand is hourglass shaped and with every stroke it separates my lashes perfectly, no clumpiness here! It coats each lash well, giving them volume and length whilst curling them. Now it is on the pricey side of £19 from Debenhams however I feel its totally worth it. There is also a waterproof version of this (same price) however I’ve never had any transfer issues onto my eye lids or the mascara running down my eyes during a wet day. On nights I forget to take my makeup off before bed (yup, I’m sure we’ve all been there!) I hardly wake up with panda eyes either. I dread the day I run out of this, I think I need to add it to my Christmas Wish List so I have a back up!
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1
Now I bought this one about a month before I discovered Better Than Sex however its still a firm favourite of mine. It has a leather like casing with beautiful gold writing on the front. Not only does this give your lashes volume and length, it also conditions your lashes with each stroke. Now I have naturally long eyelashes but maintaining them is a huge hit for me, I never want to lose them. It has a standard wand which coats each lash perfectly with no clumping as well. This retails for £21 from Tarte which does involve shipping and custom costs from America however whilst searching the world wide web I found that QVC sell them as well as a twin pack for £24.00! Definitely worth checking out.
Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara*
A recent discovery for me but the first impressions got me shook and currently its being picked a lot more recently! At the lower end of the price scale of £8.99 at Superdrug and Boots it performs just as well as any other high end product out there. The thick tube is a sleek black with pops of pink writing on it which stands out. The wand is just your typical standard one and once applied to my lashes it lifts and curls them whilst giving the volume and definition I love. No clumping as well which I feel is all down to the wand.
Unlike the other brands mentioned I will say that after a bit of research I cannot guarantee that Bourjois are cruelty free as I know this is an issue for some people, however Too Faced & Tarte are completely 100% cruelty free.
What’s your current favourite mascara? Let me know, I love discovering new ones!
Until next time,
