If you’re new around here then welcome, my names Heather and I’m a face mask addict. I’ve tried out so many in the past with so many more out there to try. I only have 1 face, but I want every single mask out there on it. They are just the perfect addition to a pamper night, which I have about 3 times a week as I like to take care of myself. Because of my shift patterns, I need them, just to unwind and relax. So if you read my previous post about the new skincare products I’ve been giving a whirl, then you’ll notice I’ve been putting a new face mask to the test. The NYK1 Remove One Peel Off Exfoliating Black Bamboo Charcoal Face Mask. Around 3/4 weeks have passed now and it’s ready to get its final verdict.
NYK1 Remove One Peel Off Exfoliating Black Bamboo Charcoal Face Mask*
If you’ve never heard of the brand NYK1 before, then they are a brand created to help you buy high-quality salon products for an affordable price. The brand was created by someone who spent 30 years in the hair and beauty industry, owning her own salon in the process. Focusing on skin and hair products, they help you achieve that salon feeling from the comfort of your own home. Perfect for someone like me who cannot afford anything remotely salon priced at the moment. Or never has the time to even leave her house.
Charcoal face mask benefits and instructions
So basically, to put it in a nutshell, the mask has been designed to help remove a layer of dull, dry, dead, lifeless skin. It’s been linked to giving you that micro-dermabrasion salon treatment at just a fraction of the price. It helps to unblock pores and exfoliate the skin, leaving a bright illuminated look. Bold claims if you ask me from a charcoal face mask. So obviously I had to put it up to the test. Even though I have dry skin, the majority of it is under my eyes and always looks terrible. When it starts to flake it looks horrendous and I’ve tried exfoliators in the past but most of them have been too harsh for my skin. Which is why I was super excited to give this a try.
It says on the packaging that this mask can be used 1/2 times a week but I’ve been using it 2 times. Every Wednesday and Sunday after doing my cleansing routine. The first time I applied this I used my fingertips. Don’t do this. I got it under my fingernails and it was a nightmare to remove. So after this little blip, I started using a foundation brush. It really helped to spread out the product evenly across my face. Also helps to avoid my eyebrows because I don’t want to be losing them.
When it comes to peeling this off, prepare yourself. It hurts, probably worse than childbirth! Ok ok … that’s a lie, childbirth is worse, but this comes a close second. But as they say, no pain no gain right?! But it really does work to help with those pesky dry patches under my eyes. I wouldn’t say it leaves the skin glowy and illuminated etc, but its done wonders for the under eyes. Applying foundation and concealer has become an easy task without the worry it’s going to bunch up in those dry patches. I’ve really loved using this and its now a firm favourite in my face mask collection.
