I am forever on the look out for new liquid lipsticks, my current obsessions are Lime Crime and Makeup Revolution matte lipsticks because of their formulas so when Beauty Bay had their black Friday sale on back in November I just had to treat myself to some new Morphe Liquid Lipsticks.
During their week of deals one of the emails I received was 50% off the Morphe Liquid Lipsticks and I knew I just had to give them a try. I hadn’t seen many reviews on these floating around so I was intrigued to see how good these were and how well they worked on my lips.
So the colours that I picked up were:
Hollywood Nights – Purple.
Homecoming – A pinky purple.
Morphe – A deep red.
Jealousy – Nude.
When Homecoming arrived it was a lot brighter than it looked on the website and probably not a colour I would wear. Hollywood Nights is a beautiful purple colour and was the first colour I tested out, braved a purple lip in public which is unlike me! Its absolutely beautiful and I got loads of compliments, one lady in Argos even asked what brand and the name of the colour. Morphe is a stunning red which was featured in my Festive Reds post. Its that perfect red shade for me where its not too vibrant yet not too dark at the same time. Jealousy is a lovely nude shade, perfect for a simple makeup day.
So these liquid lipsticks have a velvety feel to them when applied to your lips but dry down completely matte. If you know me by now the only lipstick I seem to wear is matte ones as I’m a constant grazer on food and need something which will last me a long time and won’t rub off every time something hits my lips. With the doefoot applicator it makes for easy application and the formula is lovely. It doesn’t have a super quick dry time so plenty of time to get an even layer across your lips. Once the formula has dried down it does not budge for at least 6 hours. I ate breakfast and lunch, drank a load of coffee and coke and it didn’t move at all.
These have now become my new favourite liquid lipsticks, I wish I had discovered these before. Their colour range, the formula and the simple packaging I’m just absolutely loving. The staying power is amazing on these as they last a really long time. I’m keen to get my hands on the rest of the colours to build up my collection.
Have you tried Morphe’s Matte Liquid Lipsticks? If so what’s your favourite shade?
Until next time,
