I just want to start off this post with a HUGE congratulations to Sophdoesnails (check out her YouTube channel if you haven’t already here) for this collaboration! I’ve been a fan of her videos for a while now and I think she’s such a down to earth girl with such a bubbly personality and I was super excited to get my hands on these!
Now onto the Sophdoesnails eyeshadow palette!
This post is all about the eyeshadow palette, swatches of the highlighter palette is in a separate post which can be found here. The box it comes in is a lovely watercolour pink colour with Sophie’s signature across the middle with some random rose gold splats across the box. Once opening the box and pulling out the palette itself I’m met with a beautiful matte nude pink colour covering the whole palette and her signature in rose gold across the middle once again. Gives such girlie chic vibes which I dig completely, plus rose gold, every bloggers dream!
Opening up the Sophdoesnails eyeshadow palette there are 24 shades in total consisting of 14 matte shades and 10 shimmer shades offering such a variety of colours, I’m already trying to create looks in my head! Unfortunately due to doctors orders I’m having to lay off the make up at the moment but as soon as I’m given the all clear I cannot wait to start playing!
The names of all the colours were chosen by Sophie herself which are written on the over sheet, I would of preferred to have the names of the colours on the palette itself though as I have a tendency to throw away the sheets as they are a bit of a nuisance but that’s personal preference. Also there’s a large mirror inside which is a huge bonus! I prefer to do my eyeshadow whilst looking into an eyeshadow palette mirror as you can get pretty close with it and I find it a lot easier to do detailed designs using them instead of a dresser mirror.
Lets move onto the swatches!
As you can see from the swatches the matte shades don’t swatch very well and that’s to be expected from most palette as I’ve found out so many times before. But this helps to be able to build up the colour on your eyes so you can get that perfect balance. The shimmers are super pigmented though and are 1 finger swipes with all colours feeling buttery and creamy. With drug store palettes you don’t get the same quality as high end ones so please remember that, however you can feel the quality in this one and for the price I think its a fab addition to anyone’s eyeshadow palette collection.
This is such a universal palette which is suitable for all skin tones and for all seasons, that green and them red shades are making me super excited for Christmas (yes, I went there!) and I cannot wait to get playing with this palette and see what looks I can create with it.
This is available from Revolution Beauty and is a fantastic cheap price of £10 … yup £10, that’s it. Did you manage to get your hands on it? If so what are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.
Until next time,
