I feel like I’ve been slacking slighting on the subscription box front, I never got a Look Incredible box in September due to money issues and a sh*t wage from work because of too much time off. But payday came along after what felt like an eternity and I was able to repurchase my subscription again, yaaaaay! Life is complete.
For those who are unaware Look Incredible are a subscription box company who specialise in providing a subscription service using high end products. Yes please. They have 2 different types of boxes – standard box which is £25 plus postage and the deluxe which is £25 and free postage. Someone recommended the company to me on a Facebook page back in June and I’ve pretty much loved every box I’ve received so far.
However this month I’m not overly impressed.
It has some nice products but it seems to be based solely on skin care or primers this month and I already have a primer and a skin care routine which works fine for me. But I have the products now so I might as well give them a try. When I first signed up it was all basically make up with the occasional skin care product and that’s what kept me wanting more. I’ll see what its like next month and make a decision whether or not to carry on.
But anyways, lets move on to what’s included this month.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer – RRP £17
‘Too Faced iconic, bestselling Shadow Insurance Eye Primer just got a makeover! Too Faced have revamped the packaging of this world-famous cult classic, but Too Faced have kept the bestselling formula that locks down eye shadows and intensifies colour to ensure crease-proof, fade-proof, waterproof wear for up to 24 hours.’
I’ve never really seen the point of eyeshadow primers to be honest, if I set a good base with a normal face primer and powder my eyeshadow lasts ages! But I’ll definitely give this a try to see if it improves the wear time and if it really does intensify the colour. Just hope its as good as the rest of the Too Faced products I’ve tried as everyone should know I absolutely love the brand!
Skin Doctor T-Zone Control No More Pores 30ml – RRP £23
‘Let your refining cream do the work with Skin Doctors T-Zone Control No More Pores. The overnight product helps reduce the size of pores to create a smoother look to your skin. The treatment contains Salicylic Acid which helps to both clear pores and remove excess oil. The Glycolic and Lactic Acids help gently exfoliate and clarify to reduce pore size. These three active ingredients join together to create the perfect tool to minimize pores.’
I don’t have extremely large pores (thank you skin) so this is probably a product I wont be using. I’ll probably donate this to my sister and hope she can get some good use out of it.
Helena Rubinstein Collagenist Re-Plump Lip Zoom 15ml – RRP £35
‘Helena Rubinstein Collagenist Re-Plump Lip zoom restores the lips natural “shape-memory”. Using a potent treatment it stimulates the five key structuring collagens responsible for the cohesion and firmness of the lips. The result is lips that are rounder, plumper and fuller than before with a noticeably renewed youth.’
Now this is the only product from the box which I am super excited about. I’ve been thinking about getting a product which can help my lips look slightly fuller without getting fillers as I’m petrified of needles. Will test this out over the next couple of weeks and give an update.
Laura Geller Spackle Tinted Bronze Make Up Primer – RRP £25
‘What is it: Spackle Tinted Primer is designed to revive and retexturize your skin, helping you achieve a flawlessly smooth finish. It keeps makeup fresh for hours, while imparting a shimmering, sheer bronze tint. Who is it for: The lush, lightweight formula is suitable for all skin types. Why is it different: Developed with nourishing, soothing botanicals, this oil-free formula is a unique makeup primer. The silky, skin-perfecting base layer acts as a smoothing interface between your skin and your makeup.’
I’m slightly confused as to why this was added. Only reason being is I genuinely thought people start fading off the tans and start changing the colour schemes to their make up collection but this seems more of a summer product. However I might save this for when the summer eventually arrives and hopes it gives me a lovely sun kissed glow. I tested a bit on the back and it smells exactly like sun cream and a little goes a really long way!
And that’s everything this month. I’m going to give the eyeshadow primer and the lip plumper a go and report back after a few weeks with a review on both, but I’m really hoping next months is a little bit better with at least 1 make up item in. But this month there was about £100 worth of products for £35 so all in all I can’t really complain!
Did you get the box? What are your thoughts?
Until next time,
