Something about natural products seems to excite me more than they should. Yes, I might not of made the change over to being 100% cruelty free regarding my makeup and skin care however I’m making small changes and hope to make the switch by the time 2018 is over. When I was contacted by Eco Natural Products and asked if I would like to try a couple of products which they stocked on their website I couldn’t wait to get my hands all over them.
Eco Natural Products is a website which stock a variety of natural products from around the world, brands like Ben & Anna (who I love!), Pierre de Plaisir and Nacomi all appear. Each product is perfectly described, providing information about the product itself, directions of use and also if they are certified Vegan or not. The website is easy to navigate around which is great, there’s nothing worse than a slow running, difficult to understand site!
So lets take a look at a couple of products which I was able to trial.
Pierre de Plaisir White Clay Scrubbing Stone for Body*
The scrubbing stone comes in a box with a clear window on the front so you can see the product clearly. The box is simple yet fits in with the whole natural theme, using a recyclable cardboard box. The stone itself fits in my small hand perfectly and doesn’t slide about.
To use this you just soak the scrubbing stone in water for a couple of seconds then pop your body wash on top. Using circular motions you then just scrub the stone into the skin on areas you feel need exfoliated the most. I used this mostly on my arms, legs and back (ok, I didn’t use it on my back I got James to do it for me as I’m no Octopus). It advises not to use this more than 3 times a week which fits in perfect for me as I liked to use this on pamper nights in the bath.
I found this didn’t irritate my skin like I thought it was going to. First thoughts were ‘oh no, a stone, that’s gonna be rough!’ but it left my skin feeling smooth, exfoliated and refreshed. However don’t expect results overnight. It took a good 3/4 times using this to feel a huge difference in my skin. It says it can help to remove stretch marks which I’m covered in due to children. However I seen no difference to the appearance of them, to be honest I’ve come to the conclusion they will be there forever. This doesn’t bother me though, as it shows I’ve carried 2 beautiful children. The scrubbing stone is durable and hasn’t fallen apart in the slightest, I feel its one of those products which will last you a lifetime if you take good care of it. The easiest way to clean the stone is to pop it into the oven for 30 minutes at 250c. I advise doing this at least once a week, maybe even once every 2 weeks depending on how much you use it.
I really love this stone and its now an essential on my pamper evenings. You can pick this up for £12.99 >> here <<.
Pierre de Plaisir Face & Body Soap*
When it comes to body soaps I tend to find them quite drying. I suffer from dry skin as it is and adding a soap on top usually makes it 10 times worse. But seeing this particular one was designed for even the most sensitive of skins I was excited to start giving it a try.
80% of the ingredients are vegetable oils and there is no synthetic colouring or flavours added. Every product which is used to create the soap is natural and all handmade using the traditional ‘cold’ method. They are certified Vegan and Vegetarian. I personally think they would make a lovely gift as a little present for someone or as part of a pamper pack.
This soap smells lovely, very fresh. When I used it for the first time I couldn’t get over how fresh it really did smell (I didn’t sniff my arms all day, honestly!). It lathers up on the skin nicely and leaves me feeling clean. It didn’t dry out my skin throughout the day even without the use of a body moisturiser (we’re all human, I do forget in the mornings sometimes!). It didn’t crumble at the first sight of water and I have to say, it is quite aesthetically pleasing to the eye with the yellow and white design and logo on the front.

Savon de Marseille French Natural Soap – Olive Oil*
These Savon de Marseille soaps, which are bursting with organic shea butter and rich essential oils, are imported from France. They are obviously made in France using a French recipe and 95% of the ingredients are from the natural origin. Due to the shea butter added to the soaps they make them perfect for people with sensitive skin, due to the moisturising properties. According to their website its apparently very popular amongst the French community so this made me even more excited to try it out. The one I received was the Olive Oil* one however they have a wide range of different types of soap to fulfil your needs over on their website.
This lathered up on the skin slightly but I’m not sure if its just my hairy arms but as I was rubbing it up and down my skin, it seemed to get stuck in a way. Like it didn’t glide as easy as I’d hoped. Which meant it did fall out my hand a couple of times and I had to go fishing in the bath to retrieve it again. However that problem aside it was nice, it smells incredible, not too overpowering yet enough to leave a fresh scent. It left me feeling clean and that’s always a winner for me. However this one did leave my skin feeling slightly dry afterwards which is a shame, compared to the Pierre de Plaisir one.
You can pick these up for £1.60 each >> here <<.
Altogether I really like these products from Eco Natural Products. I’ve been using the scrubbing stone continuously during pamper sessions, just to give my skin a deeper exfoliation. The soaps have been a big hit too, especially with my kids as well. It’s amazing how much fun children can have with a bar of soap! However out of the 2 soaps my favourite has to be the Pierre de Plaisir one for sure.
