CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation

Throughout my adult life I’ve been on that mission to find the perfect foundation. There’s been a few happy endings and a few mistakes (yes I’m looking at you Urban Decay!) but nothings that’s proper ‘wowed’ me. So one day I was looking through the Boots website and I discovered the CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation and had to give it a try.

I happen to notice Tati rave about a particular foundation from CYO on one of her YouTube videos and genuinely thought they were only exclusive to the USA. However when I was scrolling through the Boots website one day I seen that they are finally stocking CYO products and had to have a look. This particular foundation Tati was raving about, however, was suitable for people with oily skin and that’s not me. But they had another foundation on offer and after reading a few reviews it seemed perfect for people with dry skin like myself.

So I picked up the CYO Lifeproof Foundation in the shade 101 which is the lightest shade they offer. One thing I did notice is they only have 15 shades on offer on their website which is a huge let down. It has a pump dispenser and 2 pumps of this foundation does my whole face. The foundation itself has a runny consistency which makes it easy to blend across the face. I would definitely say this is a medium to full coverage foundation with the ability to bring it to full in areas you feel needs it more. Its a lightweight foundation and doesn’t feel cakey on the skin, it feels like there’s nothing there at all.

Some say this oxidises on their skin but I’ve personally never had this problem. It lasts a considerable amount of time, I put this foundation to the ultimate test by wearing it for a 16 hour shift. It held up well, but after the 10 hour mark it did start to break away on my forehead and nose. It says in the description of their website that it lasts 24 hours, but really? I don’t think this claim is true. There’s no weird smell and the foundation is enriched with vitamin E which has been known to help keep the skin nourished and moisturised.

This is by far my favourite drugstore foundation at the moment. It really has impressed me and I can finally apply my makeup without having to worry about my fine lines showing or my blemishes poking through and making an appearance. It doesn’t slide off at the first sign of moisture and doesn’t emphasise my dry patches after an hour, especially around my nose. Definitely a keeper and highly recommend the CYO Lifeproof Foundation to people who suffer from dry skin as well!

I noticed this new brand in Boots (not sure how new it is as i havent been in boots for ages!!) and all of the products looked so good and looked fairly cheap but the foundation was such a let down in terms of shade ranges because shade 101 was way too light for my skin but then 102 was a bit too dark and if they only have 15 shades then that is quite a let down! I did try this on the back of my hand and wasnt really impressed, although it seemed quite full coverage. I do wanna see what else they have and try out some other of their products!

Yeah the shade range is a huge letdown and hopefully they bring out more shades, more companies are doing it so there’s no excuse for them. I’m definitely wanting to pick up some of their lip products though as I love a new lip pie haha!

I never ever used foundation, but I think since I’m 27 already I should start. Do you think this one will be good enough to start? I think the price is fairly attractive, 7 pounds for a foundation is not something that would kill me. I heard also MAC and Make up forever foundations are good, but somehow I don’t trust those beauty gurus on youtube, cause I suspect they might be advertising something they don’t really like that much.
    So, any tips?

I feel this could be a good one to start with, it has a dewy finish so if you have oily skin I don’t recommend it but if you have dry skin like myself then it’s definitely a winner. Plus it’s a fab price at £7.50! I tried the MAC studio finish foundation and hated it but again, that’s down to my dry skin.
