I still cannot contain my excitement. I received my first every VoxBox from Influenster! When I first got the email saying I had been selected I’d been bouncing off the walls ever since, then when it landed on my doorstep I’d never opened up a parcel quicker in my life!
If you haven’t heard of Influenster before then I highly recommend them if you are a Blogger or a Youtuber. Every once in a while you can be given the opportunity to receive a VoxBox which gives you the chance to try out complimentary products from different brands to test and review.
If you follow me on Instagram (if you’re not already then you’ll find the link across the whole of my blog), then you would of got a sneak peak of the contents which were included in this VoxBox and I was super excited to give each product a try. I’ve never tried anything from Bourjois before, as far as I know they are a popular drug store brand so why I haven’t yet is beyond me!
So lets go through each product:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti Fatigue Foundation* and Concealer*
The first thing I noticed about these was that its a new formula, however I cannot compare it to the previous one as I’ve never tried them before. The foundation is a bit dark for me but still wearable with a bit of powder on top. Its a medium coverage foundation which you can build up on your skin. It blended into my skin beautifully and lasted a considerable amount of time which is what I love about a foundation. It didn’t oxidise throughout the day and I’m loving it so far!
The concealer didn’t crease under my eyes and covered my terrible bags well. I used a beauty blender to blend this out and it spread wonderfully. It helps to brighten up your under eyes while giving you the coverage to cover them dark circles or blemishes you may have. All in all I’m liking this combo of products as a base, just personally wish the foundation was full coverage but its still lovely! The smell is of a fruity scent, a wee bit on the heavy side but its bearable. Another thing I like about these is they are enriched with Vitamin B5, C and E which helps to provide a radiant complexion.
Bourjois Blush in Rose D’or (Golden Rose)*
A little goes a long way with this, I discovered this when I first used it. I stupidly went in with a slight heavy hand and I genuinely looked like a clown and had to try and save my face with a beauty blender! But the shade is gorgeous and gives my cheeks a nice glow with colour. Its slightly glittery so if you don’t like a glittery blush then this won’t be for you.
Bourjois Smoky Stories Eyeshadow Quad in Brilliant Prunette*
A little quad which fits perfectly into any size handbag that’s bursting with pigmentation. This quad is fantastic. Each colour blends beautifully into the crease while the glitter colour that’s situated in the middle is beautiful to add that bit of sparkle to your eyes. My only disappointment with this is I feel there should of been a little bit more space between each colour, but that’s my personal preference.
Bourjois Volume Glamour Push Up Mascara in Black*
I’m absolutely loving this mascara! I’m a sucker for big lashes without the use of falsies because me and them just do not get on in the slightest so to be able to find a drug store mascara which can achieve this is fantastic! It doesn’t transfer onto the lid throughout the day and doesn’t flake or crumble. This is becoming a firm favourite of mine as it gives me that volume my lashes love and crave.
Bourjois Metallic Lip Creams*
The real star of the show. The pigmentation on these lip creams is incredible. I tested out the rose gold colour (100) and it has to be my favourite shade out of the 3. The wear time I was quite shocked about, granted they aren’t transfer proof but they lasted a fairly long time! I got to about the 4th hour and there was still product on my lips. When you apply them they do leave a sticky feeling onto the lips though but after a while this does go, it doesn’t leave a gloopy mess once it has dried down a little.
Personally I wouldn’t wear the bright pink colour as its not normally a shade I would wear but the gold and the rose gold colour are absolutely beautiful and I can see myself wearing these throughout the whole of the festive season. They have a paddle like applicator, I usually only use doe foot ones, but I had no problem using this to apply this lipstick onto my lips and the applicator is soft which makes applying easy.
Altogether I love each of these products and I’m so thankful I was given the opportunity to give these a try, especially from a brand I’ve never tried before. The mascara is fantastic and has been a staple in my make up bag since the day it arrived!
The lipsticks are exclusive to Superdrug and are available from the 22nd November.
Did you manage to get a VoxBox at all? Or have you tried anything from Bourjois that you would recommend?
Until next time,
