Affordable Drugstore Foundations For Dry Skin You 100% Need

Best Drugstore Foundations for Dry Skin

Sometimes it can be an absolute nightmare trying to find foundations for my skin type. If you’re not already aware, I have dry skin. It never used to be this dry though, many years ago I actually had normal skin. So finding a foundation was always an easy task. But over the years along with stress, weather etc my skin has just gone so dry. Or maybe its the fact I’m just getting older, after all I’m almost 2 years off my 30s. So over the last year I’ve made it my mission to find the best drugstore foundations for dry skin and HOORAY, I managed to find 4! So if you’re a dry skin kinda girl like myself, then make sure you take a look through the 4 drugstore foundations I’ve found which actually look decent, don’t flake off the nose and are friendly on the old purse strings.

Revolution Pro Foundation Drops – £7.00

So I discovered this little gem when I decided to test out Revolution Pro makeup and fell in love. Its one of those foundations which is undetectable on the skin. It doesn’t feel cakey and to be honest, you forget you even have foundation on as its so lightweight. There is a huge shade range of this foundation, with all different undertones as well.

Its medium coverage with the option to build it up. I tend to use a brush to apply this then blend away the brush strokes with a beauty blender. Only reason being is the beauty blender can soak up a lot of this foundation due to its water based formula. The only issue with this foundation is the fact it has a dropper applicator. Slightly annoying but bearable.

Available from Superdrug and Revolution Beauty.

Best Drugstore Foundations for Dry Skin - Revolution Pro Foundation Drops and CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation

CYO Lifeproof Long Lasting Foundation – £7.50

I seriously rave about this foundation everywhere, so of course it’ll feature in my post about the best drugstore foundations for dry skin. If you like a dewy foundation then I also highly recommend this. I love this foundation and so glad i discovered it (all thanks to Tati on YouTube). 2 pumps of this on the back of my hand and it’s the perfect amount to cover my entire face.

Same with the Revolution Pro foundation its medium coverage but easily buildable. I do use a beauty blender to apply this to the skin though as I found it works better. Only issue there is with this foundation is the lack of shade range. If they released more shades to include everyone then this would be 10/10. You can read more about this foundation here.

Available from Boots.

Milani Conceal and Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation and Concealer – £13.00

Even though this is a semi matte foundation, I’ve found this actually works on my skin type. It didn’t flake away on my nose and crumble after a couple of hours. This is the first medium to full coverage foundation I’ve found that actually does a decent job. I rarely see Milani raved about anywhere but honestly, the brand as a whole is fantastic.

A beauty blender is the way to go with this foundation though due to the consistency. It’s rather thick and using a brush left pretty bad brush strokes on my face. Even though this is the most expensive foundation out of the 4, it’s still a decent price. It may not be sold in drugstores in the UK however it is over in America which is why I’ve featured this. So far the only place I’ve found this sold in the UK is on Beauty Bay.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation – £9.99

So many people around me raved about this but I never really tried it, until Influenster sent me a VoxBox to give it a whirl. Ever since I’ve been in love. It’s a light to medium coverage foundation, so perfect for those no-makeup makeup days. However you can build this up to become proper medium.

This gives such a lovely glow to the skin with a dewy finish. Makes me look radiant. Like the Revolution Pro and CYO foundations it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I noticed quite a lot of people say this oxidises on their face but I genuinely have never had this problem. It also have a nice fruity scent to it as well, but not overpowering.

Available from Boots and Superdrug.

All of these foundations are now huge parts of my makeup routine, depending on what type of coverage I fancy. Now my mission is to find at least 1 high end foundation which works for me as well. I’ve got my eye on a couple so I’m hoping to find the perfect one soon.

If you have dry skin, whats your favourite foundation to use?
