I’m always on the hunt to try out new products. From makeup to skincare, I wanna try it all. Recently, I received a lovely, generous package which contained everything featured today. As a blogger, I feel absolutely lucky to get sent things to try out from PR companies and brands. So today I thought I would do something different and share with you products I’m currently testing. What’s new in my beauty stash and what I’ve been testing out.
New in my Beauty Stash | First Impressions
J.One is a brand I’d seen quite a lot in the beauty community and always wanted to try it out. The brand as a whole was created by the Korean actress Ha Jiwon. Korean beauty seems to be huge just now yet I’ve never gotten round to testing anything out. So many people rave about anything from the Korean Beauty industry so I went in with high hopes. I got a couple of things from this brand and I couldn’t wait to dive in and test it all out straight away.
I’m loving the simplicity of the packaging, white background with black writing. I’ve been using this as a primer before makeup and it’s truly fantastic. Its clear in colour and leaves a sort of tacky feeling which is perfect to keep foundation on the skin. Obviously, if you don’t already know, I have dry skin and suffer terribly with it but this helps. It feels like it creates a sort of barrier, to help keep the dry skin masked. I’ve been using this more with my dewy foundations though as I find sometimes they can slide off around my nose. For some reason, the indents around my nose can get fairly oily yet the rest of my face is dry. This really helps to put a stop to that. I feel that this would be an absolute blessing for people with oily skin though.
I love how this jelly pack is multifunctional. It can be used as a primer before makeup or an overnight mask. Gotta love a product which can do both! This jelly pack is packed with nourishing, inky-hued ingredients to soothe and strengthen skin whilst helping to plump the skin and leave it looking luminous.
The packaging is the same as the J.One Jelly Pack, just simply reversed. I’ve mainly been using this as an overnight mask 2/3 times a week. It’s slightly blue in colour and has a runnier consistency than the white bottle. I love waking up to beautiful, glowy skin in the morning which is soft to the touch. It leaves my skin looking healthy and if I’m having one of those days where I can’t be bothered doing makeup, I don’t need to worry. I feel confident on no makeup days when I’ve used this the night before. If I had to choose between the 2 bottles though, I would pick this one 100%.
There’s no denying that I’m not getting any younger. I’m edging closer to my 30s now and think its about time I started using anti-aging products. You can never start them too young though. I’ve noticed that my face is losing its elasticity and fine lines are appearing on my forehead. Slightly scary thinking about it, but we’re all going to get them at some point in our lives. I cannot stay young forever (if only)! Botox is a big no-no as I’m absolutely petrified of needles so great working products are my only option.
I first thought this was just a basic cream but once I opened up the lid I saw little capsules of cream instead. I think this is a genius idea! It’s been designed so that each capsule has just the right amount of product you need to use for your face. Got to be honest here, I haven’t seen a huge difference yet, but this is because I’ve only been using this for a week. I’ll definitely report back though if I notice some changes over the next couple of weeks.
After doing some research on this brand, I soon discovered that apparently, this is many MUA’s best-kept secret. This left me super intrigued and excited to give it a try. As you may know already, I have dry skin and now the colder months are upon us, I just know it’s going to get considerably worse. So to find a decent moisturiser is a must. Embryolisse is a brand which was created by a French doctor and has been a cult classic for over 60 years. Why I’ve never heard of this brand before I’ll never know.
First of, the packaging. Its super cute and love the whole New York vibe. The tube is just a basic squeezy tube but sturdy enough so it doesn’t split. The moisturiser itself has a creamy texture yet when its applied to the skin it feels lightweight. One of the great things about this moisturiser is it can be used before makeup. Actually, this is the moisturiser I used to test run the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation. I squeeze out a generous amount, apply it across the whole of my face then leave it for around 2 minutes to soak into the skin. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue behind and leaves my poor, dry face feeling moisturised for the majority of the day. It’s basically my go-to moisturiser now and cannot stop using it. Highly recommended if you suffer from dry skin like myself.
Korres Shampoo, Conditioner & Repairing Hair Mask*
I’d never heard of the brand Korres before. But after some research, I discovered that they are a brand which produces products based on natural ingredients. They sell a whole range of products like skin care, hair care and even makeup. Everything is 100% cruelty-free. So I received the range which is designed to help coloured hair. Enriched with sunflower and mountain tea, its designed to help colour protect whilst it does a deep moisture.
I have dry hair as well as dry skin, the gods were not good to me! But maybe that was my own doing somehow. After all, for years and years, I’ve dyed my hair so many different colours. From blonde to black to even blue at one point, I’ve experimented with them all. But around 2 years ago I decided to let my hair colour grow out and revert back to my natural colour. So I haven’t been able to give these a proper test run yet. I did use these once however and they left my hair feeling moisturised, but as for protecting my hair colour, I cannot comment. I do have a hair appointment booked soon to go back to purple hair so will give them a full review then.
