I haven’t done a favourites post in so long! Actually, the last time one featured on here was back in April. I’m not entirely sure why I stopped doing them though, it was a series i quite enjoyed writing about. I think it was more to do with the fact the weather was so lush outside I stayed away from heavy makeup. But today I’m back with my August Favourites and I have a fab roundup of products lined up.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Eyeshadow Palette
First off I’m going to start off this August Favourites post with the newest addition to my eyeshadow palette collection. The Norvina eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills is just gorgeous. Filled with 14 shades, I cannot put it down at the moment. They really have knocked it out of the park with this eyeshadow palette. Its based more around your neutrals/cool tones/purples and pinks but you can create a wide variety of looks from this 1 palette. Every shade (including the mattes) is super pigmented and easy to blend on the eyes. I feel this eyeshadow palette is perfect for the autumn months as well with them darker colours on the right hand side.
Yes its one of those luxury items that costs a bomb to buy, but honestly in my personal opinion its 100% worth it. You can read more about the Norvina Eyeshadow Palette here.
Revolution Pro Foundation Drops
I’m so glad I discovered these foundation drops from Revolution Pro. For a dry skin girl like myself its hard sometimes to find a foundation that suits my skin type (if you’re looking for recommendations for dry skin foundations then you can here.). But this little beauty is just perfect. It has a water based formula which helps to keep the skin hydrated whilst giving you a medium coverage. Between this and the CYO foundation, I have much more better makeup days.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Androgyny
I’ve been wanting this shade for ages, then I picked up the nudes collection in my Beauty Bay Haul and been in love since. Its just that gorgeous plum mauve colour and I know its going to be a huge hit during autumn. I’ve always been a huge fan of the formula of these liquid lipsticks. Calabasas was my go to for months on end. But I can now safely say it has been replaced with this. If you have never tried the formula of these then I highly recommend giving them a go. They dry down matte yet don’t dry out the lips and are transfer proof for hours! A must for matte liquid lipstick lovers like myself.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker XL Extreme Plump
If you fancy plumped lips then you definitely need to give this a try. I use this before doing my makeup so my lips are nice and plumped before doing my lipstick. You can feel this tinging pretty much instantly, but not too much if you get what I mean. Its not a permanent fix though, it only leaves the lips feeling plumped for a couple of hours. Its a lovely alternative to lip fillers.
Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser
At the moment, this is my holy grail skin care product. I’ve always suffered terribly with breakouts, especially around my chin area. But since buying this Acne Cleanser from Mario Badsecu about a month ago they have dramatically reduced. It has been formulated with Salicylic Acid and really helps to get deep into the problem. Yes this cleanser is more designed for people with oily skin, but it has worked wonders for me. It does dry out my skin slightly but a bit of moisturiser after my skin care routine and I’m good to go.
For a week I didn’t do my skin care routine as I was working practically everyday. The breakouts were horrific and honestly, after looking at the state of my skin I was back using this religiously again. I now use this twice daily, when I first wake up in the morning and just before going to bed.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors +HA
This moisturiser is seriously good for someone with dry skin. This is the moisturiser I’ve been using after the cleanser above. It leaves my skin feeling moisturised and hydrated without that greasy feeling some moisturisers can leave behind. If I’m having a no makeup day I don’t need to reapply this to keep that moisturised feeling. Another great thing about this moisturiser is its thick enough to use as a primer before your foundation routine.
